Hik-Connect for Android

I spent the money and had the commercial HIKVISION PTZ dome cameras installed on my home. They are very nice and come in useful when you want to capture license plates from shady vehicles driving up your street, or other suspicious activity. I have 1gig fiber internet and the NVR is hard wired. It’s an awesome system! The App is very easy to use, and highly useful when you hear things outside at night while your in the other room away from the NVR and monitor. You can record, control the PTZ cameras, review playback and digital zoom on top of the zooming in on objects that the camera itself provide. If you are not tech savvy, then this system may not be for you. You gotta know a little bit about bandwidth, I.P addresses and such to get the most out of the system. I highly recommend this app.

Alerts stopped working. Keep getting “network unstable error”. No way to fast forward to rewind any more. My car was hit and we can’t even view footage. Hasn’t worked in months. Customer service wouldn’t even help us because we were a consumer and not a technician.

While in the office, the system works great. However, when trying to connect remotely (even from home with strong WFi) it takes up to 20 minutes to connect. Sometimes up to 45 minutes. We keep getting the msg: “Network is unstable, connecting again”. This continues on each camera until connected.

I wouldn’t give it 1 star. Horrible system no way to fast forward or rewind among many many other awful features. You get what you pay for!

So far I liked it .
