Etaria | Lite for Android

I really do think this game has a LOT of potential. I took off 2 stars because there are several key components that are missing. 1. There is absolutely no tutorial; the player just has to figure out how things work. It took me a very long time to do this and it was unnecessarily frustrating. 2. There is no saving the game. It appears that it saves your place if you decide to leave your device and come back later, but if you die, your entire game is lost. This is such a turn-off that it almost caused me to delete the app altogether. Other issues: The sandbox feature is extremely limited. E.g., you may only destroy bushes once you’ve collected their berries or trees once you’ve reduced them to stumps. You cannot edit the ground/dirt part of the landscape at all. When it comes to the warehouses for various resources, it appears that the wood storage unit doesn’t really work. It will hold and save wood for you, but in order to build things you need to remove the stored wood and have it in your inventory—this isn’t necessary with stone, food, or minerals. Once I figured out the game, I really did have fun playing. I’m actually at the edges now and it won’t let me go further because this is the Lite version. I’d really like to see the full version come out with updates to the above points; I’ll happily purchase it.
