I downloaded this game on my 15 inch Android (2016) and was very excited about it; as I’ve played this game on different platforms and thoroughly enjoyed it. It truly is an awesome game once you get the hang of it. You can easily lose track of time and get lost in this game. It worked for approximately 1 week. Then all of the sudden it would not open, crashing prior to ever starting up. I emailed their support SEVERAL times and gave them what they asked for, yet they would never give me any resolve. After giving them my system details upon request, that exceed their recommended system requirements, they would never get back with me. In fact, I have reached out to them several times since asking for some type of resolve but they have not gotten back with me. Finally after about 2 months of waiting for a response and the game still crashing. I decided to write this review. Save your $39.99 and DO NOT PURCHASE.
I spent a solid 24 hours with this game… and I’m not very happy with it at all. I had looked at it for a long time, because it was so graphically stunning, then after watching a so-so review on youtube, I decided to get it. Definitly wish I hadn’t. It really finds a way to fall short in about every area. The graphics are the highlight of the game to be sure. The castles and buildings are stunning, however the camera controls are so wonky and frustrating that I had to play the game at a distant map view and all the beautiful details were lost. From a gameplay standpoint, there is a military aspect to the game. Unfortunately, the militart units are very costly to maintain so you need to get a solid handle on the economic system of the game first. This is the biggest fault of the game. I found the economic simulator to be tedious and frustrating. Its all about building cities that can generate 5 individual resources. There is like 20 resources in all. Depending on where you put the city, it generated different resources. Then each city gets one trader. So you need to juggle around your traders to get each of the 20 resources to each city. This is how you make money. Seems ok… but the value of the items is in constant flux, depending on how much of it you are making and it seems to get used or not used at random intervals. I literally spent hours going in a cycle around my cities trying to keep the traders in the green… which i failed at. Then your money depletes to nothing and the game that drags at its best, really drags. I was a little bit of a fan of Tropico 5 and a little bit more of a fan of Dungeons 2 but they just dropped the ball on this one. I feel like they went over budget with the awesome graphics and just ran the game out the door with a horrible game play engine and camera control. I should have followed my gut and got Sim City or Civilization...
