Each stage increases the odds of a Braille letter appearing. Stage 1 will be all Roman characters. When a match is made the letter will be spoken and that voice is adjustable. To add to the difficulty (or make it a bit easier) you can set vowels to a specific color as well as other letters. There is a ghost icon in the top-left corner.
