used to be useful, now worse than worthless

Google disabled the WiFi scanner?! Is nothing useful to be allowed? Now this app only gives Google (secretly in the background, if they so desire) the signal strength of all access points around you (pinpointing your location) but this version removes this useful troubleshooting tool from the user.

Wi-Fi signal strength works.

Found a review that said this works well and gave setup directions. (Step 1)go into app settings and change the slider for “Wi-Fi scanner” to on. (Step 2) Done with setup. Went into the app and clicked “scan” and am seeing dBm values for all networks around me, refreshing every couple seconds. I don’t have any airport devices, so no idea what’s up with that angle.
