I have been searching and searching for a language app for my 4 y.o. (and myself) so we can together learn the french language. Unfornately only after making the purchase and opening the application, did i discover that is primarily focused on spelling words in french. Which assumes you already know the language, and know how to spell or read french. It is only helpful in one way to click on a letter and hear it pronounce. No words are created for you. There are no options for English to French translation or other languange translations to French. This app target customer are already french speakers over 6 years old. Not for beginners.
I have bought thousands of french books, apps, etc. One thing I figured out fast was if you didn't have audio and didn't know how to say the french alphabet that you can't learn french. I have no idea how to speak french. Why they put French in the "Romance Languages" like spanish and italian is confusing because with spanish and italian you can sound the words out. With French the sound of the alphabet is different. The letter "h" has NO sound. "i" with all the accents basically all sound very similar. There is no "U" in the French alphabet but there is another letter that makes the U sound (I think it's e). This program can help anyone from 1-99. Again if you don't know where to start and have no idea how to pronouce the french alphabet, flash cards are going to do nothing for you. I got a program that would say a sentence. They went so fast I couldn't understand it. This is a great way to learn the french alphabet and small words. Example. Ace (a card) sound lik As in french. The ACE in english the e makes the A say its name. In french AS (ace card) sounds like "ah s". This is a program for beginners if you have no idea how to sound the FRENCH alphabet. Now if you'll excuse me I need to start on the books and apps that have been collecting dust for 10 year because now I know how the alphabet is pronouced. Very easy program to follow. EXCELLENT, GREAT, TERRIFIC
A great way to play with words! Love the coded Montessori moveable alphabet too! I plan to use in with my 9-12 Montessori classroom for mastering some basic vocabulary. Would like to see some articles attached to nouns in the future.
