But there are a lot of issues with how they design new characters. I’ve been playing this game for almost two years and I’ve sunk hundreds of hours farming artifacts, Primogems, and character materials. I reached ar58 like two days ago. But after seeing the new characters drip marketed for Sumeru, I’m legitimately disgusted by Hoyoverse. The fact that they can get away with representing a South Asian/Middle East/North African culture through pale, stereotypical designs is disgusting. Not to mention throwing in many diverse cultures into one pot, stirring it around, and spitting it out as one extremely orientalist culture is repulsive considering the SPECIFIC design elements that they used in Inazuma, Liyue, and Mondstadt. I’m extremely disappointed in Hoyoverse, and I hope this reaches the right people so it can fix some of these problems
Overall, I love Genshin so much. But if ur mobile, watch out. It takes up so much storage!! Please fix this. Also change the sumeru character designs pls ty

I’m a bit disappointed with the first released playable characters from Sumeru. I was hoping for more variance in skin tones once the region based on South Asia, North Africa, and the Middle East. Many people from this region are darker-skinned and that doesn’t seem to be represented in Tighnari or Dori (I know Collei was introduced in the webcomic). I am hoping that future characters will better reflect the phenotypes of the people that live there and each character takes clear inspiration from a culture and is more appreciation that appropriation.
