In sunny California, this wonderful radio station provides me with a delightful variety of programs from classic literature, fascinating documentaries and even some memorable classic BBC programming from the 1950s to which my family became routinely drawn to after a big Sunday roast dinner. I don’t think I could be happy without my daily dose of nostalgia.
I am a Brit living in California and since I was not able to get to London during the pandemic, this radio station has been even more of a lifesaver for me. As well as the musical content, it keeps up my accent and my vocabulary. My favorite programs are Composer of the eeek, Wigmore Hall concerts and I can hardly wait for the. Proms to start again. My husband and I have been listening to Global News on the BBC since COVID hit the scene. We live as expatriates in a West African country for most of the year, but we’ve live in a variety of places during our married life. We’re still very interested in what’s going on in those places & Global News provides us with some of that information. BBC tends to be pretty balanced but they do have a slant on certain issues.
