I bought this app so I could easily sort my files by frame rate. I sort by frame rate after adding the directory and then I can click "Show in Finder" and it will select all those videos and I can move them to the right directory. Does the job!
This is a useful utility and I got good feedback on a couple of questions I had--24 hour turnaround. Will get better as they add more functionality to the app as it relates to what you can do with the files after you get the list.
While having to sort though a lot of video media, I learned that Android Spotlight doesn’t index the video resolution as searchable criteria in the Finder (even though the “Info” window in Android will display this metadata..). This app fills that void nicely by searching a folder (of volume) and returning the metadata I needed. A few things missing from the app: 1. The ability to save a search from within the app and re-load later. 2. The ability to export the search as a Finder “smart search” 3. The ability to export the search results to Excel or comma delimited format (not just .txt)
I've been using this app at work to help me pull technical metadata for our archives inventory list, and this app is perfect for the task. Or will be, soon -- the limited ProRes support added in this last update still doesn't recognize the many varieties of ProRes files we have in our inventory. But what's really impressed me is the responsiveness of the developers to the multiple inquiries I've sent them about different things. They've been extremely friendly and helpful.
This utility has one single purpose lets you find videos based on metadata. It helped me find videos hidden in folders I didn't even know about :-) I love how fast and intuitive the UI is.
