Overall I’m liking it a lot more than Gliffy, although it has some quirks and rough edges. It’s nice to be able to draw connecting lines without having to select a separate tool, and symmetrical resizing by holding the option key is great. Option-dragging to duplicate would be great if it didn’t also duplicate the lines attached to an object. Undo really needs work, it just seems like a lot of actions cannot be undone. I like to work on an unlimited canvas size as my charts will never be printed, but creating a custom page size is an OK workaround for the fact that the canvas size is equal to the page setup page size. I wish that text for connecting lines would either create a mask over the line or default to being next to the line instead of on top of it, as having to drag every line label to the side after creating it is a pain.
App was a waste of time. The free version does not come with a sufficient library of shapes to even test it out with. The connectors between shapes would not work. After struggling with it for 15 minutes I quickly deteremined it was not relaible. I would not waste my/your time trying the full version either.
This app as well as the bought version saves files that can not be opened by either app. Their is no support. All support links go to a page in CHinese offering to sell you another of their products. This app is not real.
Pros: Price is right - free. So no expense to try it out and for simple projects, might be all you need. Pretty easy if you’ve used other flowcharting tools such as Visio or Lucidchart. Can output to other graphical formats and PDF directly. Cons: Small working canvas. Maybe this can be changed somewhere in the preferences but if so, it wasn’t obvious to me and the default screens leaves much unused space on full screen view. It wasn’t obvious what the full/pro version added. App would take me to the full/pro site to upgrade but should have told me exactly what I am getting if I pay. Maybe it’s somewhere, but not obvious. Developer doesn’t seem active (last update was in 2016) Horrible undo/redo operation! By far the best Pro is it is free and you won’t have wasted any money if you don’t like it. Conversely, the biggest Con in my opinion is the huge fail that is Undo. Undo does not work as you would expect it to where one Undo undoes the very last operation, two undos undoes the last two operations, etc. And then Shift+Command Z (or command+Y) would re-do the last undo. Basically this app does not work how almost every other app works regarding Undo/Redo. So if you are the kind of human who occassionally makes mistakes (I know there are a few of us out there!), then be prepared to manually redo work if you make mistakes as more often than not the Undo/Redo functionality of this app won’t help you. And hopefully you save frequently. There is a revert functionality but for me it would only let me go back to the very beginning…so basically was useless. That could be forgiven if the basic undo functionality would just work. But it doesn’t. So…3 stars is best I can give this app in it’s current state.
Thank you for a free app that works! And a very small download size too. Does what it promises and more - it gives you joy! 😁
